A medical assistant in Pediatric Urgent Care is what i'm really looking forward to in working at.I had look up information on assisting in the urgent care. They take care of ill or injury patients. They would escort the patients into the exam room and check their vitals. when checking their vitals they will always ask what brought them in and if they are in pain. they usually ask them to rate their pain giving the assistant an idea of how much -pain they are in.The patients are usually infants, children, teens, and in some cases can be between 18-21.The medical assistant can always runs blood work and may be able to do x-ray because urgent care can be really busy all the time. Urgent care usually work in the evening, weekends, and on holidays. You have to be able to work fast and multitask.Work as a team,have patience, and be very caring. While doing my paper all the information I found really help me to understand how a medical assistant in urgent care would be like and what are the things i would have to do. I still have other option for the medical field, but pediatric urgent care in something i'm really interest in. I still have lots to learn about it,but i'm looking forward to learning more. I love helping other , i love being able to do something important, and it pay really good. I know i will get there in time and i have to keep pushing myself. I've come very far and i wont stop till the end. I will be a pediatric medical assistant one day!!!!

I did a Statistics Unit Project in my math class and my was on  "Who Sends Out More Texts In A Day Males or Females?". I  had to gather information from 20 people then I had to make a data showing my information.  I had to make two different kind of graphs showing who texts more males or females. I predicted that females texts more then males because females are usually always on their phones. I  collected my data by asking 10 males how much texts they send out in a day. The males I ask were from work, my  family , and my friends. I also did the same with the females. I was right  females does texts more than males, but males also texts as much as females do. The males were down by only a few texts. I could not believe males really did text that much in a day. Females send out between 300-3000 texts in day. Males send out between 500-2000 texts a day. I also had to find the maximum, minimum, mean, mode, median, range, and outliers. I used a pie graph to show the different in percentage of who texts more. I also used a bar graph to show the mean between the two.The average texts in a day is between 500-1000 a day. This project was really interesting and fun. This just show how much people be on there phone in a day alone just sending out texts. I do not think any of the 20 people I asks can be one day without there phones. I really could not believe the answer I was getting when I had asked how many text he/she send out. I even had to look at their text to really believe them, and they were not lying they really did send out a lot of text in a day. I can say I text a lot, but they are masters in sending out texts. Makes me wonder don't they fingers ever get tired.

I had to do a  Professional Plan assignment for Literacy class. The assignment  was to write about any three jobs that we would like to work at after we graduate from our field. We also had to write about what drew us to our field and what advises would we give the next student form next semester about doing this assignment. I  found this assignment was a little bit of challenging because I thought medical assistant  in any department does the same thing, but when looking up information for my three department fields for medical assistant every department had different duties and routines. Yes every medical assistant have to do vitals, height, vitals, give shots out, greet patients , and take them to the exam room. Then I notices that in each department you do something you wouldn't do in an other department. For example , in the OBG/YN you would do everything a medical assistant would do, but you help with minor surgery. In urgent care you can do a patient  x-ray which was new to me because  I didn't even know a medical assistant can do a patient x-ray. When doing this assignment i found a lot information that made me understood more about medical assisting. Like i found that an urgent care assistant get pay more then a OBG/YN assistant. The most crazies time of the year in the pediatric department is during the winter time and  physicals time. I found the easy way to do this assignment was to start my paper asap. Do not waste time and start looking for all the information that you need . I have asked a lot of question to make sure i was doing my paper the way it supposed to be. Also I had others read my paper to have a better understanding if i need to change something or what mistake I should fix. I also brought in my paper on time , well before the due date. Better to bring in your paper early then late, bring in your paper later will only give you a bad grade.

PowerPoint I never did it before in till I came to Bryant & Stratton College . I never knew what was a PowerPoint , never knew how to do a PowerPoint , didn't even knew what a PowerPoint was use for. But in some of my classes I needed to do a PowerPoint. In  Literacy, Computer, and Math class I had to do a PowerPoint in different things. I didn't know how I was going to do this, but as I always do I would asks questions a lots of questions. Sometime I felt as if I would asks to much questions, but that is what the Instructors what you to do to asks them questions if we need help that is what they are there for. PowerPoint is when you put your work in a slide show ,but you don't put all your work into the PowerPoint. You only put in the important parts, you don't want your slide to be to distracted or to plan. You don't want to have paragraph because then the people you are presented to won't be paying any mind to what you are saying because they are to busy trying to read what you had wrote. That was what i was doing wrong at first, I was writing most of my paper into my PowerPoint in till my  Instructor from computer class told me I can write all that ,but just in my notes. On my slide I would just write down the important. Then i started to get the hang of it.I learned pretty fast and started to liked doing my PowerPoint. I was looking forward to doing my PowerPoint. I enjoy putting creating them even though I had problem putting in videos ,but it was not because of something i did wrong it was just because of the slides. One last thing about a PowerPoint is that after I would have to stand in front of the class and present my presentation. I was very scared and nervous about doing it. I thought I wouldn't do it right and mess up when i had to talk, but i did it and the only thing i did was laugh a lot and smile.  I felt good after I did my presentation was done because I thought i did a pretty good job for it being my first time. I still get scared and nervous ,but one day I will overcome it and not be scared or nervous to do a presentation. Another thing about PowerPoint that my Instructor from Literacy class was that the PowerPoint is a tool not the presentation.

In math class I am doing this project about my financial aid of  paying back my loans after graduation. I have a 10-year period to pay back my loans with the interest of 4.66% .My payment begin six months after I graduate. But when I was looking up the information about paying back the loans I found that I can pay my loans before the 10-year period , not only that it would be faster and better ,but it would save me money. In this project we had to find what my loans are and  how much would I pay back with the interest after ten years ,and how much will I pay if I pay sooner then the ten years. I also had to make a monthly budget and see if I would be able to pay sooner or if I would have to stick with the ten-year plan. When doing my budget I found that I would have extra money left ,so I can pay extra when  paying back my loans.For  explain , let say I was going to be paying $200 a month for my loans with the extra money I have left I can pay $300 instead.Another thing I have to keep in mind is always paying on time , not paying on time or missing a payment can get me in default and that is something I will avoid. I now have  better understanding and more of idea how the student loans work. This project was  benefit for me and now I can start my plan on how I will be  paying back my load. I have gotten a lot of information and i will be putting into use. My goals are have a plan,to pay my loans before the 10-years period ,have a budget, and always have a emergence fund.

            Ever wonder how much information there is about you on the internet. In class we did a experiment  to see how much information there is about us on the internet.To a surprise most of the class was able to find information about them self . For explain, like where they live or lived before ,there phone number, some information about their family, even some pictures of them or their love ones. My classmate  really did not  like the fact that with a click of a mouse you can find  information about them online. Lucky for me I could not  find anything about me .Not any picture , my number , not even where I live. It was like I did not even exist, which made me feel pretty good because i would not want any one looking me up and finding out things about me.
          I think the reason I could not find anything about myself  was because I never really  put my information on line. I never felt comfortable putting my address ,phone number or anything that got to do with my information up . The only thing I would use the most is my email address. I do not even go shopping on line or order anything on line. I rather have it that way because it makes me feel better.I even pay all my bills in person rather then paying on line.
       I think if you do not like your information on line , you should be careful where you are putting up your information. You should think twice before adding you phone number or address on line like Facebook and other website. Just know when you are putting information on the internet your giving anyone access to look up anything you put out there.You can also put on your privacy that can help too.

I want to be a medical assistant , but  I'm not to sure yet if I want to go for an obgyn  or pediatrics assistant. I love kids to death and  always love being around them.That's why I want to be in the pediatrics , but I also love being around pregnant women. I find how the body develops when a women is pregnant is really interesting.Now the reason why I cant decide is because both have a one reason that makes it hard for me to decide. The reason for the pediatrics is because I know in time as part of my job I would have to give the kids their SHOTS! I hate and scared of shots myself and I don't think I can do that to a child..I'll feel like I would be hurting them even though they really need their shots. The reason why i don't know about the obgyn is because women can get really grumpy and flip so fast on you. I wouldn't know what to do if a women starts yelling at me or cursing me out for no reason. But over the time I know that I will learn about what to do in them situation and how to handle it. In the future i know which  one i will go for and which one i will be able to handle.

Computer classes is harder then I thought. I used to love typing on the key board till I had to take computer class. I never thought the way you type or how long it takes you to type  really matter, but I  guess you  have to type at least 40 wph and learn to type with out looking at the bored. I get so frustrated in my class because not only do I have a problem that I keep looking at my key board , but it hurts my hand and wrist. But as my teacher says its because I'm getting use to it and after a while Ill wont be able to type with out looking. Learning about computer is not really my thing. Its kind of hard trying to focus on something that is not an interest to me. This class always make you learn how to work a computer and it is not easy. Well for me it ain't , it is like learning a new language. Then find the things on a computer will take me hours because I have no idea about computers. I really don't know how will this benefit me , but if its one of my classes it must going to benefit me in the future. I just finish all my post-test so that,s great , but now i have to do this paper and have no idea what to do.But it's okay because once I know what and how I have  to do it I will be on the roll.

In math class today I had to find out what would be my  monthly salary after graduates. I have to write a paper about how would I be able to budget my expenses , and pay for my loan at the same time. How can  I be able to avoid debt? What things will I have to cut that is not important? What will be the different if i pay off my loan off  earlier or pay it in the 10 year time  period. This assignment is basically showing us how real life would be. I like this assignment because it kind of gives me a head start for when I graduates and get a job in medical assistance. This will show me how to spend money wisely , and also if I would want to pay my loan faster. To start my paper off I had to fine out how much a medical assistance gross was. Then , I had to take out 20% of tax off  the gross. When I found out what it was I divided that into 12,because I have to fine out how much I'm going to be make in a month . After,  is when I find out what I would be making monthly. After finding out what was my monthly salary I had to make a budget list. What bills I will  pay , how much I would put down for my loan ,and  ect, That's how far I got into my assignment , and with doing the 3/10 step I cant wait to finish! I thought I was going to hate this assignment ,but it was the other way around. I know I'm going to learn from this and it is going to benefit in the long run!

I've always wanted to work in the hospital.Always wanted to become a medical assistant ,because i love working with people and helping them.I thought I would go to college take some class and that was it do what I always wanted to do.I thought taking medical assistant would have been an easy class taking,but I was wrong.It isn't that simple .There are so many different kinds of words for  you  to remember.So many big words to define and/or  to pronounce.Different things you have to remember like bones,cells,skin,ect.In the beginning I just look at the word or words like" what is this"?.But for me to become a medical assistant i have to learn it.Everybody start not knowing nothing to knowing it all . I started using my flash cards, downloading different kinds of medical app,and looking up things online.Ill even play some games because I seem to learn a little faster when it is fun.Now I know a little bit more then what i used to(not a whole lot,but a little bit more ).Its still hard ,but I'm working on it and trying to find  other ways i can study everything i need to know.Eventually ill get there just with a lot of studying and support.I just got to work hard for what i want and at the end it will pay off !So that means extra work,making sure I study,and not giving up!
